My guesses were actually right. Yeah, I got really good grades this time! Still not an academic awardee, but I’m just two points behind! Whew. :) I can’t believe that I actually managed to pull my grades up again after getting low grades in almost all of the subjects during the second quarter. When I saw my report card, I looked at the Home Economics grade first because that’s my weakest subject. I was surprised that my grade increased by 16 points :o That’s incredible, I know. I still don’t believe it.
Moving on to other things. Family life’s been weird lately. Everything’s okay, but lately it seems like we don’t talk much anymore. Everyone’s been busy, we come home at different times and we don’t even eat together. It’s unusual for me because I got used to spending time with my family and talking endlessly with them. I miss my brother and sister bugging me whenever I’m doing my homework, or my mom and dad telling us that we’d go out. Sometimes we even create music and shows together, it’s something our family enjoys. But now, the only words we tell each other are: “Have you eaten?” :| I got invited to go to my friend’s house this Saturday and have a sleepover, but there’s this side of me that just doesn’t want to go and devote my time instead to my parents and siblings. I’d like to catch up with them. Also, my mom’s friend is coming to our house and I want to meet her too. *sigh* Oh well, I hope next week everything will be back to normal. And I hope my grades will be something that they’ll be happy about.

Right on! 16 points? That’s awesome. I hope my grades go up this term.
Eh, that’s how my family just works. My brother is in Alberta, sister lives down the road, other brother in New Brunswick and other sister in Ontario.
I come home from school, dad is never home and mom is always busy. I eat in my room and mom and dad sometimes eat together. Just how my family works.
I know what you’re feeling! Sometimes people invite me to go somewhere and I just don’t really feel like it because there’s something else on my mind, but I don’t want to feel like I’m blowing them off or something. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck with your fam!

That’s great news. It’s always an awesome thing when you get to pull your grades up after an all-time low. But then, I wouldn’t really know. I wasn’t exactly what you’d call “grade conscious.” Home Economics was one of my worsts as well. Numero uno would be PE (would you believe nag-summer ako just for PE, in high school? Blech!) ;)
Maybe you can talk with your family about your observation? There are times when a family drifts apart, and it’s better to save and speak up while you can, while it’s not too late to remedy things. Personally, I don’t even remember the last time my family and I ate together (except when in the mall or some place else). We’ve become busy dealing with our own demons, I suppose.

Congrats on your good grades. That’s awesome :D. I know what you mean. My family and I go through times we don’t speak. But, hang in there. Things will hopefully calm down soon :).

I always look at my weakest subject first, too. Yay for pulling your grades up!
I’m used to eating with my family almost every dinner. I hope you can spend more time with your family :)

lol, I actually cried when I got my first academic award.. really.. I was an emotional bitch before.. hehe
Don’t worry, you’re time will come too. Just have faith and don’t lose hope. Good luck with your grades and studies.
Hmm, maybe everybody has a lot of things in their minds too.. give them a little space but remind them that all of you need a time together – and you miss them!

When did your family start acting this way? Was it a year ago, several, or a week ago?

Congrats with the improvement of your grades! I’m sure you deserve it and it looks like all your hard work paid off. About your family, to be honest with you I think it’s very common that people have family problems. Just think that other families have worse problems to deal with okay? Maybe the members of your family are just too preoccupied with the stuff they’re busy with lately.. i’m sure eventually everything will be okay :)

Keep up the good work. I’m sure you put in extra work to get your grades up.
Hopefully the situation improves with your family. Maybe it’s just a certain time of the year when it seems like everyone is busy. It’ll improve in time.

Congrats on your grades! =) Unfortunately, I’m not very close to my own family — meaning we barely talk to each other at all. I chit-chat with my brother sometimes, but I wish I were closer to my mom. The thing is, whenever I try to make small talk with her or to talk to her about my week, she uses that situation to her advantage, i.e. to ask me to do stuff, nag about stuff, etc. I always feel so lonely whenever I’m home.

Congratulations on raising your grades!
I know how your family situation goes. That’s the way it is sometimes. Although nowadays when I live alone I don’t find it weird not talking to my family a lot every day.

Wow, good for you. Congratulations for the high grades. Keep it up or do better. :)
I know how you feel. I’ve been a freaking lot busy the past few days. My Mom was away for the last two weeks because of some personal things to attend to and because my classes end at night, I only see my Dad and brother in the evening. We don’t eat together anymore. My class ends at 9 pm and by then, I am the only one who hasn’t eaten yet. Sucks.
