Okay, so I decided not to have a date for the prom. It’s normal, anyway, since I’m in an all-girls school and some of the people I know have stayed there all their lives so they don’t know anyone who could be their date. But of course, my mom didn’t want me to be “alone” there so she decided to look for a guy for me. It’s a bit annoying because I already had plans with my friends. It would be awkward to be the only one with a guy in our cluster. I told my mom I’d think about it.
So awhile ago we went to see my prom date. And it turned out to be my grade school friend, so I thought that I’d be having no problem dealing with him since we were close and all that. But heck, when I talked to him he was such a snob, and he looked like he hated seeing me or whatever. He used to be a great talker AND listener, but now I don’t even know what to say and do. Argh. I was right, I didn’t need a prom date. I wouldn’t want to be with someone who ignores me for loooong hours. Later, I said that I just wanted to be a stag like my friends, but it was too late. My mom and his mom have already agreed on things. *sigh* What do I do?
Anyway, I also got to see my gown for the very first time! It’s already finished and I love it! It looks really nice! I’ll try my hardest to post pictures.

We’re debating whether we want a prom or not. Since our class lack of enthusiasm about this event. Ah, perhaps the boy was force? -shrugs- I don’t know but hopely it will turn out great. Lol. I wanna see the dress D<

We were both “forced.” Lol. But I really thought we were going to be okay because we were great friends during grade school =))

Based on your blog entry, it’s obvious you’ll have more fun without a date. You can probably just enjoy your friends’ company and camwhore the night away in your pretty gowns ;)

Ugh! It sucks that you have to go with a guy like that. Hopefully, it won’t put a damper on the evening. I would love to see your dress :D

Hope your prom turned out ok – sounds like you would have a better time on your own with your friends than with that guy =)

That would suck to have to spend prom with him. I wish I would have went with my friends alone instead of having a date. My date was nice and all but I had more fun with my friends. I hope you had a good time anyway. I am sure your dress was lovely! :)

Hm…perhaps he’s feeling the same way that you do. He doesn’t want to go…but he feels obligated because both of your Mom’s have already set it up. You should definitely call him, and tell him that you understand that he may have something else he wanted to do. Then figure out a way for him to do it, and for you to both keep your Moms happy.

I think he was forced by his mother to go, that’s why he became a snob. Just try talking to him nalang? He might just be shy or something.
Hope that your prom turned out alright.

I think that you should tell your mother the truth about how much of a snob he is and that you probably wouldn’t enjoy your prom with him around.

Ahh people change :] so maybe he’s a snob on the outside, but a nice person on the inside? Maybe he seemed like a snob to you when he was shy? I don’t know haha but people who I thought were snobs seemed ok when you get to know them. That’s what I found anyway.

Hopefully your date will be better behaved at the prom. If not, just ignore him and have fun with your friends!!

Isn’t that just like Moms. Really though, its YOUR prom, and you shouldn’t have to bring a date if you don’t want to. Your parents can’t force you two to go to prom together, and I think you just need to voice how awkward his behavior was so your Mom understands you would be better off not having him around.

Maybe he is just as keen on the idea as you, which is not keen at all. Maybe talk to him and see if he can talk to his mam about calling it off. Or maybe ask him to fake an illness on the day lol.
